Dogripora Bridge Work Resumes After 16 Years – Thanks to Rashtra Raksha Vahini’s Abhijeet Vishen’s Intervention Pulwama, May 2025 |
After a prolonged 16-year delay, the long-pending work on the Dogripora Bridge over the Jhelum River in Pulwama district has finally resumed — thanks to the direct intervention and persistent efforts of Rashtra Raksha Vahini’s National President, Shri Abhijeet Vishen.
On 9th May 2025, Shri Vishen personally visited Dogripora and conducted a detailed on-ground inspection of the stalled bridge project. During his visit, he interacted with local residents, assessed the hardships faced by communities relying on boats for daily commute, and initiated strong communication with senior government officials and district administration. Following his intervention, the Jammu and Kashmir administration approved a revised budget and gave a green signal to restart the bridge construction work. The renewed project aims to complete the bridge within a year and will provide critical connectivity to the Srinagar–Anantnag National Highway, easing transport for students, farmers, patients, and daily commuters.It is noteworthy that there was no involvement or support from the local MLA until after Shri Abhijeet Vishen’s visit. Only after his inspection and mobilization efforts did the local political representatives appear on site.
